One of the Worst Drinks to Avoid this Summer

The summer heat is on. So ladies the show has just begun! Get your swimsuits and cameras for another summer adventure. So are you ready to take those cover-ups to come off and get the best picture for this summer? Oh yeah, let’s bring it on… And remember that summer will lasts for three months so we have to make sure not to add inches in our waistline. Yes, it is possible if you think before you drink. And a little self- discipline is required. Drinking more water is the best recommendation to keep you hydrated and healthy.

Some studies said that we have to avoid sugary drinks because they are directly linked to get flabby belly. But what about diet sodas, no sugar added- are they healthy? We will find out together right here. I found this relevant write up on Yahoo Health the Eat This Not That by David Zinczenko posted on June 03, 2011:

#5: WORST DRINK
Diet Coke (12 fl. oz. bottle) and other diet sodas
0 calories
0 g fat
0 g sugar

No calories, no fat, and no sugar—so what's the harm? For starters, the carbon dioxide that supplies soda's fizz will continue to burble and expand in your stomach, priming you for serious bloat. That's the short-term effect. The long-term could be even worse: The artificial sweeteners in diet soda might actually inhibit weight loss. Studies have shown that rats consuming artificial sweeteners consume more calories at subsequent meals. It's as if the promise of calories, without the payoff, causes the body to crave food. Below is a better beach-day beverage: Hint Water. By drinking water, you keep your body flushed out and your skin looking healthy, and since Hint uses natural flavors, you earn all the boons of hydration without suffering the downsides of sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Dental Check Up and Cleaning

Out of rushing hours and limited time, we only spend little time for our teeth. Yet, they play the most important role for us. In fact brushing for one hour is not sure enough that your teeth are clean. That’s why we need to visit our dentist once a year for check up and cleaning.

Evidently, I just had my dental cleaning today and it’s good for one year. I was so surprised out of those hard brushing and flossing everyday. Honestly, I still missed something in my teeth that can possibly cause tooth decays. So, the dentist scraped some rough (sandy texture) out from my teeth and put fluoride in every tooth.

After all the little pains, it really feels so great and confident to smile!

Berries for snacks

Berries are disease-fighting wonders. Full of the good stuff like vitamin C, folate, fiber and phytonutrients, berries are like food superheroes, only, you know, without the capes. Pair them with lean proteins for a berry filling, berry tasty snack, like one of these:Top high-protein vanilla Greek yogurt with 1 cup of microwave berries, then top with a little reduced-fat Reddi-wip. (Tip: Freeze the yogurt for an hour first.)Add 1 cup of berries to a high-protein cereal with skim or soy milk. Top plain Greek yogurt with 1 cup of mixed berries and a handful of nuts for an ideal, balanced breakfast. Create your own trail mix with freeze-dried berries and raw almonds or walnuts.

Vegetable for your Dinner Date

Planning for a dinner date? You might be worried about how restaurant food will measure up to your diet—after all, there's often a shortage of good-for-you veggies on the menu. Don't let the menu hold you back. "Ask your waiter or waitress if you can add veggies to your meal. Ask for specific veggies that you love, or ask them to surprise you with a mix. Chinese, Thai and Italian restaurants are usually happy to accommodate your request, but it can't hurt to ask when you're dining at other places, too."
Veggie up items like pizza, pasta, stir-fry, sandwiches, burgers, omelets and wraps. There may be an added charge, but the boost of flavor (not to mention fiber and nutrients!) will be worth every penny.

Attention to all Mommies!

I Got a Problem with my baby! He is getting smart and this is a serious problem for me because every time I tried to feed him baby food He won't eat it. But when I eat my food he will grab it! And there is one time, I was eating bread for my breakfast and baby wants it instead of his own food. What I did was, I dipped a piece of bread into his food and feed it to him. Unfortunately, he knows that I put baby foods on it so all he did was gave me a bitter ugly face! And looks like he’s trying to say that "Mom I want real food! Your food"! lol But my baby is only seven months old and has no teeth for real foods! And now all he got is milk no baby cereals at all! I am a bit sad because he is getting sexy; I mean skinny, his weight decreased at his age right now! So, I am sharing this to all mommies, maybe you can share me your ideas, opinions on how to feed your babies before. I will highly appreciate your time!

Asparagus: My baby’s 1st favorite vegetable.

Once in a while, we will have a whole family dinner and it’s always comes with asparagus. I’d tried to feed it to my 5months old baby Mickael, and we were all surprised how much he sucked and chewed it. Oh man! He really loves asparagus. And he will end up screaming if there’s no more asparagus for him.

Here’s one of his stolen picture while he was eating his first vegetable “asparagus”!

And I do believe that good nutrition and a balanced diet help your kids grow up healthy. Serve a variety of healthy foods and snacks. Be a role model by eating healthy yourself. To all mommies try to feed your babies with a healthy food. Start with vegetables.
